Collection, collation, evaluation, interpretation and analysis of information and thereafter dissemination of intelligence as well as archiving.

Internal Oversight is headed by a Addl. IGP at the Police Headquarters and directly reports to the IGP. Under the Addl. IGP  there are One AIG,One Addl. SP, Five ASPs and staffs from different ranks working for the PIO. All the units of Bangladesh Police fall under the surveillance of PIO. PIO agents are spread all over the country under direct supervision of the PIO unit located in Police Headquarters. Even from the remotest places, intelligence is being collected and reported on 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year basis.
